Gertude and the weeds

The garden is growing slowly in the autumn...  early autumn...  and Gertrude is the best weedkiller I've ever had...  here she is in the weediest patch in the garden....
 sublime....
Gertrude is one of the best "garden helpers" that I've ever had.
I have also raked quite a bit of her poo from the pen for the new winter vegetables,  She may be even more productive than we know...

But does she stand still for a painting of not?

I've done a few sketches... in the same way as I've drawn the chickens. They are good as "life drawing" subjects in a funny kind of way. They certainly make you look carefully and train the eye-hand coordination thing.
